Φ About Andrea Φ

Hello!! Welcome to my blog.

First off, I want to be brutally hontest!! This blog was started solely for blogging my homemaking life. You know the cooking, sewing, crafty, homey stuff that homemaking relates to. However, my eclectic life and mind keep telling me thats not what this blog is truly about.

My mind keeps telling me it’s about life.

It’s about the joys encounted on a daily basis.

It’s about reaching out to others.

It’s about sharing the things that I find worth pursuing.

Then I start thinking. Yes!! This blog is about homemaking, because, I homemake all day everyday. I homemake when I am in the home. I homemake when I am in the garden. I homemake when I am grocery shopping. I homemake when I am thrift shopping. Wow, when do I not homemake? It’s always happening.

So yes, this blog is about Homemaking. But, it doesn’t have to have the homemaking label. And that brings me here. I want to change the blog title. But, what do I it. I do love Pious Homemaking, but my eclecticness loves change. And a year is coming up and that will bring a new name. I just cannot wrap my mind around what it will be yet. After all, I started a new blog just last month on thrifty goods.. and that pretty much tells you that I am in need of a name that does everything.

Anywhoo, a little about me.

I’m Andrea. I’m a southern farm raised gal from the small town of Cave City, Arkansas who has moved to another small town of Fayetteville, Tn.

I am….

A wife of one.

Marriage is very important to me and I take the role of wife very deeply. I strive to be a the best godly helpmeet that my sinful self allows me to be.

A mother of five.

God took one and then allowed four of the most beautiful babies to be born full term from within my bowels.

A Christian.

With faith, discretion, discerning of Spirits and teacher as my spiritual gifts.

A zodiac lover.

I am eternally optimistic and cheerful; I cannot stand conflict and distasteful words.I am a conquerer and a procrastinator. I am charasmatic. Being too frank and outspoken are often problems I run into.

I am LEO.

 A music lover.

I love uplifting soulful, indie music.. if you can have such a thing. I also sing in our church chior, as well as, in the shower!!

 A vintage lover.

I collect vintage; anything. My home radiates vintage, owls and mushrooms.

 A crafter.

I love crafty things. Rather it be sewing, macrame, bead work, upcycling.. I love it all.

A tree hugger.

Yes, I love trees!! I think they are the most amazing things God has created!! They just stand and reach to heaven there whole life.. then keep reaching after they are dead. How amazing is that!

 A photography lover.

I love taking pictures of my family, outings, and nature.

A Naturalist.

At home anyways. I love to cook from scratch and am self taught. I use herbs and natural resources for our family. I don’t use shampoo nor store bought laundry detergents.

My life—

I am a serious unwaivering thrifter and deal seeker. Thrifting is woven deep inside me, so much that the local thrift shops know my name. Thrift stores, flea markets, antique stores, yard sales, and any resale shops on land or online are my hobbies. {{ New things are not. }}  I am a skinny pants and black shirt wearer. And I buy only if it is in a thrift shop, on sale and/or it has a coupon. That goes for clothing, toiletries,  foods and produce. My go to items for thrifting include glass jars and clothing. I used to pick up cute little knickknacks, vintage wear, quilts and other goodies. I  realized when we moved we had to downsize, A LOT! (2500 to 1200 square feet).

I also homeschool our children.. With an eclectic mind like mine it is very hard to find where we fit in. We are going on 4 years and we are still trying to find were we fit. Mostly Eclectic Unschool Classical… What is that?

Now for my attire. I have changed quite a bit over the past few years. I am a wearer of black shirts, skinny jeans, skirts, and jackets of color.  You see, for years I would always end up in black because it goes with everything. Then I would fall in love with boho clothes. Then realize I had so much clothes and nothing to wear. So, I chunked every non-black shirt and started my black collection again. So, now I classify my look as, classy black that matches everything.  Literally!!!
